You wake at the edge of a vast field with a distant light ahead and no memory of being placed there. That is where the crossing begins. From a fork in the first rank to a final shore you cannot go around, every choice you make shapes the road: the people you meet, the things you carry, where you fall, and whether you rise. Some paths lead through gardens of gold and a voice that knows your name. Others run down into the darkest country the map contains. All of them move toward the same far light - and all of them are asking the same question.
