This is an introductory textbook to the field of Number Theory for non-math and non-science majors. The target audience is students in either a liberal arts mathematics courses or a course focused on elementary education majors at any college or university. Rather than a brief introduction to a wide variety of topics, the goal of this book is to develop an understanding of the field of Number Theory. The content is similar to what is included in a book for a course offered to math majors, but the presentation is much different. The text includes an introduction to logic and proofs, at a level suitable for liberal arts majors, as well as major concepts in Number Theory accessible to students with two years of high school algebra. The textbooks that exist in Number Theory utilized for a course for math majors are often too difficult and do not contain enough elementary exercises for this audience. This textbook will contain an abundance of exercises along with many techniques for solving proofs as well.§
