Cecilia "Cece" Wynn has spent years keeping Wynn House Inn standing.

When a burst pipe exposes deeper damage inside the beloved Spain, Maine landmark, Cece is forced to hire June Mercer, a preservation architect and restoration contractor with steady hands, sharp eyes, and no patience for sentimental denial.

June's first assessment is brutal: the inn has been preserved emotionally, not structurally.

Cece wants to save the place that holds her family's history. June wants to make sure it survives long enough to have a future. But as repairs turn into renovation, and renovation becomes a town-wide argument about memory, change, and what preservation really means, Cece begins to realize the inn is not the only thing that has been quietly exhausted.

With Spain watching, commenting, meddling, and occasionally helping, Cece and June must decide what deserves to be kept, what must change, and whether love can become a kind of forward stewardship.
