I've always been the steady one. The safe one. The man who keeps the rides tight, the brothers alive, and the strays fed.
No one knows what I used to be.
A Hellhound.
A man built from violence and regret.
Syvannah looks at me like she sees past all of it. That I am more than my scars, my silence, or the sins I walked away from. Somewhere between late nights, shared pain, and a half-feral kitten named Peanut who decided we were her family, I started wanting things I never thought I deserved.
But the past does not stay buried. And when it comes for her, I will burn everything to keep her breathing.

Forgiveness hurts, and falling in love with a man capable of destruction might be the riskiest thing I have ever done.
If I let him have my heart, there is no going back. And if his past drags us under, I don't know if I will survive losing him.
