Scourge of the Dragon Priest

Dragons... majestic creatures, horrific monsters; giant reptiles considered a thing of the past, driven into extinction during the Dragon Wars centuries ago. But when a monstrous, fire-breathing lizard decimates Meshton under the order of its armored rider, young Battermin loses everything. If not for a dwarf named Vassimar, he might have perished as well.

Living with Old Vass among the dwarves is good. It's safe. But as Batt becomes a man, something is missing in his life he can't put his finger on. As he contemplates returning to the world of men, word of the dragon's return reaches his ear, and a desire for vengeance stirs.

Armed with his father's sword, Batt sets out to challenge the dragon and its rider, a man known as the Dragon Priest who desires dominance over all of Philen. Several warriors join Batt in his self-destructive quest, including a beautiful ranger named Teliya, but they are no match for the army and hundreds of dragons at the Dragon Priest's disposal. And while Batt accepts his inevitable demise, he fears for his newfound friends-especially Teliya. He must find a way to ensure their survival.

Following the advice of a wizard, Batt continues on his path to confront the enemy, a goal seeming more and more out of reach the closer he gets. Is he strong enough to stop the Scourge of the Dragon Priest? Can he protect those he loves from sharing his fate?
