Routledge Handbook of Energy Humanities

Humanities scholarship around energy has reached a point in terms of profile, complexity, and sheer volume of reporting that a general review and assessment of existing knowledge and future research priorities is warranted. So far, such a product does not exist.

Filling this lacuna, the Routledge Handbook of Energy Humanities is a state-of-the-art reference resource that consolidates the large and growing amount of knowledge and expertise in the field in the form of targeted contributions by leading experts. Taking as its starting point the fact that energy poses a significant global challenge, which is not only technological in nature, but also fundamentally social, cultural and political, the Handbook organised into four key Parts:

• Part I:
• Disciplining Energy
• Part II:
• Categorising Energy
• Part III:
• Representing Energy
• Part IV
• : Situating Energy
• Part V
• : Conclusion

This structure and the nature of the contributions will allow the reader to quickly find a concise expert review on topics that are most likely to arise in the course of conducting research, and to obtain a broad, reliable survey of what is presently known about the subject. The Handbook will be of great interest to energy researchers across the world in a number of disciplines, as well as to museums, arts and environmental organisations, governments, and policymakers.
