Relentless Pursuit

Despite the subject matter, "Relentless Pursuit" is a heart-warming story filled with good

people and events, but abuse is no joke. Kat falls for Damon's charm, but soon after marrying

him, he becomes abusive and controlling. Unlike many victims of abuse, one beating is all it

takes for Kat to divorce him; he is irate! In Damon's eyes, she's his possession, and no court can

tell him she's not his to control. Kat goes on the lam, finding good people along the way and a

smart, black lab named Buck, who becomes her constant companion. Damon relentlessly

pursues Kat with a vengeance. Every time she slips through his fingers, it makes him angrier,

more unstable, and plain dangerous. Once the tracker Damon put on her van is destroyed, Kat

gets away, at least for a while. She eventually finds Starlight, a small town chock full of good

people. Kat's favorites are Janeen, the owner of Starlight Books, who becomes her best friend.

Fred, the gruff sheriff with a big heart, is a hoot, and then there's Sean, a reclusive Vietnam vet

who is hopelessly attracted to Kat, despite his PTSD. Everybody knows everybody else's

business in Starlight, so when Damon hits town, folks do their level best to stymie him, but the

timing is off. Will Kat and Janeen escape when Damon sets her new house on fire? Can Sean

and his buddies protect her from this deranged man? More importantly, will Kat ever be able to

trust enough to find love?
