Structuralism was abandoned before its potential as a cognitive science could be realized. Reviving it with what we know today provides new insights into the structure of consciousness. Treating the relations between actual linguistic signs as organic properties of mind reveals a set of conceptual relations that lie beyond the constructs of cognitive psychology, in the transpersonal realm of higher order consciousness.
