Here's what no one told me when I started punch needle.
My first project took three attempts. Not because the instructions were wrong, they were perfectly clear, step by step, with beautiful photographs. The problem was simpler: when my loops came out uneven, when the fabric puckered, when the yarn split for no apparent reason, there was nothing in those books that said "Oh, you're seeing THIS? Here's what happened and here's how to fix it."
I spent hours online, watching videos, scrolling forums, trying to match my mistakes to someone else's solutions. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes I guessed. Sometimes I started over.
This book exists because I kept thinking: someone should write the guide that assumes things will go wrong. Someone should write the book that doesn't just show you the finish line, but walks with you through every stumble along the way.
That someone turned out to be me.
What This Book Actually Does Differently
Most beginner craft books follow a pattern. They show you tools. They teach basic technique. They give you projects. And somewhere in between, they assume you'll figure out the inevitable problems on your own.
But punch needle has a learning curve that's uniquely frustrating. Your tension changes as you go. Your fabric behaves differently with different yarns. What worked on your practice square falls apart on your first real project? And when you're sitting there, needle in hand, looking at something that doesn't look right, the last thing you need is another beautiful photo of what it should look like.
You need someone to say: "Mine did that too. Here's why. Here's what I did. Here's what you can try."
That's this book on every page.
