Optimised an Active Anti-roll Bar System using CNF-LQG Controller

The ride comfort and handling performances have been one of the main objective in order to fulfill the expectation of customers in the vehicle development. Currently, automotive engineers encounter many challenges to provide comfort to drivers while driving on straight roads and also while handling cornering. A stiffer suspension provides good stability and handling during manoeuvres while softer suspension give better ride quality. An active anti-roll bar provides the advantages of reducing the trade-off between good handling besides improving the ride quality. The conventional control strategy gives advantages in reducing the trade-off between the ride and handling quality, however previous studies indicated that there was a room of improvement. Modern control approaches in active anti-roll have been studied over the last previous years, which gave a fast tracking but provide the large overshoot to the system response. Therefore, this book proposed a CNF-LQG fusion control strategy, where it aimed to improve settling time while reducing overshoot of the vehicle body roll angle.
