About this book

Nadia uses an AAC device to speak. The book treats it the way it treats Gus's hearing aids and Ms. Okonjo's cane - as equipment that belongs to somebody who has better things to do than discuss it. Nobody in the story explains it. Nobody praises her for it. She's just the one giving the orders.
