In this warm, honest picture book, a child explains PTSD in the words a child would actually use.

Along the way there's Kushy, the working service dog; Tuesdays at the Wellness Centre with free blueberry muffins; hockey games cheered from the top row; and the green medicine that keeps to the high shelf, where the family rule is simple - you never touch anything without asking first.

For children ages 4-12 growing up alongside a Veteran or first responder, with a closing note for the grown-ups who read it with them.

Autumn Farmer is a Canadian Veteran's wife, mother of two boys, entrepreneur and advocate. She has spent years helping Veteran families navigate a life that can be difficult for others to fully understand, building a business dedicated to supporting Veterans and their families and reaching tens of thousands of households with information about PTSD, chronic pain, cannabis, and life after military service.

My Poppi's Green Medicine was written for the people she believes are most often overlooked in those families: the children. Raising two boys in a Veteran household, she knows that children see, hear and feel far more than adults realize, and that PTSD brings big emotions and questions a child can't always put into words.
