As time goes by, the older SLs fall into the hands of collectors, becoming too valuable or rare to use on a daily basis. Launched just over a decade ago, the R230-series SLs allow enthusiasts to enjoy a modern classic that, thanks to its bloodlines, is guaranteed a place in history. After looking at the SL model's heritage, this book covers the full development and production history of the Mercedes-Benz R230 SL. It looks at what was available in all the major markets on a year-by-year basis, including limited editions, and backs up the data with contemporary illustrations sourced from the factory and in-depth appendices. This volume - the fourth in a series by Brian Long and Veloce covering all the SL models - can be used as a reference work for fans of the Stuttgart marque or those looking for originality in a car they own, or as a coffee table book, such is the beauty of the photography.
