A working astrologer's systematic reading of the Vimshottari Dasha system, rooted in the classical Parashara-Bhrigu Sutram tradition and drawn from years of live consultation practice.

Every Vimshottari calculation begins in the same place: the exact longitude of the natal Moon. From that single point unfolds a hundred-and-twenty-year map of a life. But laying out the map is the easy part. Reading it is where students and even practising astrologers stall.

This book carries the reader through every layer needed to actually read a mahadasha in a chart. It opens with the derivation of the Vimshottari from the birth nakshatra, then presents a seven-axis reading framework covering karaka nature, functional benefic and malefic determination for each ascendant, house ownership and placement, conjunctions, dashanat reading, and transit weight. A worked sample chart follows, applied end to end.

Then all nine mahadashas in the Vimshottari order, each treated identically: the classical BPHS-style general effects by placement, all nine antardashas within the mahadasha (the eighty-one combinations that answer the specific question a native usually asks), a condensed analytical framework, and remedies (Parihara).

A separate chapter presents the author's clinical observations on the most challenging Mahadasha-Antardasha combinations, tiered by severity, with distress-register mapping, decision trees, and remedy responses. A dedicated chapter on the path of remedies covers the nine planet mantras, the four great recitations (Vishnu Sahasranama, Lalita Sahasranama, Durga Saptashati, Hanuman Chalisa), Vedic mantras beyond Parashari, and an ecumenical treatment of remedial practice across traditions. A closing Further Reading chapter maps the classical shelf for the serious student.
