Most of us were never designed to live entirely under fluorescent light, glued to screens, sleeping poorly, and quietly wondering where the calm went.

The body is a living sundial. The nervous system, hormones, and mood are built to be tuned each day by the rising and setting of the sun, and for most of modern life, that tuning simply isn't happening.

INTI ASANA: The Yoga of the Healing Sun is a practical, soul-honoring guide to rebuilding a sacred relationship with the sun. It blends two ancient traditions that arrived at the same understanding from opposite sides of the world: the Inka and Q'ero paqo reverence for Inti in the Andes, and the Vedic devotion to Surya expressed through Surya Namaskar, held against the clearest modern circadian science available. The result is not a metaphor. It is a daily practice, grounded equally in ceremony and in the suprachiasmatic nucleus.

The two traditions are never flattened into false equivalence. Each is honored on its own terms, historically attested Inka cosmology held distinct from contemporary Q'ero paqo teaching, and both held against the actual scientific literature rather than borrowed authority. Where the research is settled, this book says so. Where it is still emerging, it says that too.

What This Book Offers
Sixteen chapters move across four parts:

  • Children of the Sun - the historically attested cosmology of Inti and the Inka, and the contemporary Q'ero paqo tradition that carries it forward today
  • Surya and the Global Sun Path - the Vedic solar path, Surya Namaskar, and the neuroscience of prana
  • The Science of the Healing Sun - circadian biology, the suprachiasmatic nucleus, serotonin and melatonin regulation, and what current research does and does not yet confirm
  • INTI ASANA: Becoming a Child of the Sun - the complete daily practice: morning sun exposure to the spine for alignment and restoration, and sunset's golden hour practice facing the light, ten minutes at minimum, thirty when the day allows it

These are the mornings this book was written for:

  • Mornings that start already tired, already wired, reaching for a phone before reaching for the light
  • Anxiety and low mood that keep circling back no matter how much meditation or journaling happens
  • A life spent mostly indoors, under LEDs, in cars and offices, carrying a quiet sense of being cut off from nature and from something larger
  • Stress, grief, or exhaustion carried across generations, looking for a daily ceremony rather than another item on a list

Each chapter opens with a teaching story, drawn from the Andean altiplano, the Vedic tradition, and the lived experience of practitioners meeting the sun in cities, on trails, and from rooftops anywhere in the world. No retreat or wilderness required. The practice asks only ten minutes, and a willingness to turn toward the light.

For anyone whose whole being has been whispering, "I need to be in the light again," this book is an invitation, and a manual, for coming home to the healing sun.
