Aktuelle Themen behandelte die Tagung «Informatik und Gesellschaft» zu Ehren von Klaus Fuchs-Kittowski als Pionier dieses Fachgebietes. Der Sammelband legt 44 Beiträge mit breitem Themenspektrum vor. Er behandelt den Einfluss von IKT auf die Arbeitswelt, Industriearbeit 4.0, Big Data, Datenschutz und Datenausspähung. Einzelne Beiträge sprechen Umweltinformatik; Informationssystemgestaltung, Softwareentwicklung, Künstliche Intelligenz, Cloud-Computing sowie E-Learning (MOOC) an. Es werden auch künstliche Immunität, Avatare und die sozialen Aspekte behandelt. Ein weiteres Augenmerk liegt auf automatisierter Kriegsführung, hierzu werden insbesondere Ethik, Humanismus und Friedenserhaltung in einer global vernetzten Welt diskutiert.
