Forest Park, originally named Quick Station, was founded in 1846 as a refueling stop for the Macon and Western Railroad. It would later be known as Stump Town because of the stumps left behind when trees were cut to provide fuel for the passenger and freight trains traveling to and from Atlanta. This book provides glimpses of the individuals who created the foundation for Forest Park, what their contributions were to the city, when they resided in the city, and where they lived, worked, and played. It also explores the history of Forest Park's churches, schools, businesses, and transportation, in order to provide a more thorough understanding of how the city came to be.
