Firefighter Finn

Meet Rosie: confident, funny, lightning-fast, and the best thinker at Firehouse 9. She also uses a wheelchair, but that's just how she gets around, like Sparky's paws or Blaze's wheels.

When Pumpkin the kitten chases a butterfly onto a high ledge above Sweet Bun Bakery, the whole crew jumps in to help. Brave Finn, loud and lovable Lily, calm and steady Juliet, Sparky the Dalmatian, and Blaze, a silly fire engine with headlight eyes, each try their best. Nothing works, until Rosie pulls the pencil from behind her ear, measures the angle, spots a gap in the branches, and shows everyone exactly where the ladder needs to go.

Rosie to the Rescue is not a story about overcoming a disability. It's a story about a kid who saves the day because she's clever, and the crew needs her. Disabled children are simply children, and every crew needs all kinds of helpers.

Perfect for ages 3-8, this read-aloud picture book features:

• A joyful disabled main character whose wheelchair is never the problem
• Gentle lessons in teamwork, problem-solving, and respect
• Early STEM thinking through shapes, angles, and triangles
• Big sound effects kids love to shout: WEE-OOO! CLUNK! HONK HONK!
• Scratchy, warm, hand-drawn style illustrations

A great pick for classrooms, libraries, bedtime, and any child who has ever been told to "wait here."
