Educational Program on Knowledge, Practice, of Diabetic Type 2

Diabetes mellitus is a global health problem and one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality.Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease, characterized by hyperglycemia. The prevalence of type 2 diabetes is increasing, Reasons for the increase in prevalence include dietary habit, lack of exercise and increasing age (glucose tolerance declines with age).Diabetes mellitus complications are classified as acute or chronic.Diabetes education has been an essential component of diabetes management and is increasingly recognized as an integral part of chronic disease management.In this book we evaluated the effects of educational intervention program on knowledge, practice, and blood glucose level of adult patients with type 2 diabetes in Gaza Strip using A quasi-experimental design.We assessed knowledge, practice, and blood glucose level of adult patients with type 2 diabetes, then we developed and implemented a health education program to prevent acute and chronic complications; improve quality of life and produce changes in knowledge, attitude and behavior necessary to maintain or improve health.
