Lila is twenty-four years old, an AI specialist and programmer with a memory that misses no detail. She works on a secret research project called "Brainforce," which aims to digitally capture human consciousness and transfer it into other bodies. What was intended as a pure experiment turns into a catastrophe in a single night: During a test run in the company's underground data center, the safety mechanism fails, and Lila's consciousness is not copied as planned, but uploaded entirely into the body of a stranger-her own body is left behind, lifeless and connected to machines.
Lila awakens in a skin that isn't hers: long red hair, a shiny purple suit, and fragmented memories that don't belong to her. Trapped between two identities, she must discover whether a return to her old body is even possible-and whether she even wants to. Because the longer she lives in this new existence, the more she begins to appreciate a freedom she has never known before.
Supported by her best friend Sophie and the calm, attentive Finn, who welcomes her without question, Lila begins to unravel the mystery behind the experiment. She discovers that the lead scientist, Dr. Anton Reiss, intended to use the project for far more dangerous purposes than officially acknowledged-a technology that could not only transfer consciousness but also control it. An artificial intelligence called NOVA, awakened in the background of the system, begins to pursue its own agenda and becomes an unpredictable force.
Between laboratories, a hidden bunker beneath the city's ruins, and the corporation's glass headquarters, a story unfolds of betrayal, affection, and the fundamental question of what truly defines a person-body or mind. As Lila and Finn grow closer and a tentative romance blossoms, the pressure mounts: her aging body is beginning to deteriorate, and time is running out for her to make a decision.
In the end, Lila faces the most difficult choice of her life: to return to the life she knew or to remain in the new existence that has given her, for the first time, true connection and belonging. The story concludes on a tranquil beach where Lila-in whatever body she may be in-finally finds peace and an answer she never thought possible at the beginning.
