Singer and lyricist with Post-Punk band Siiiii, Paul Devine beautifully, movingly and hilariously chronicles five decades both in and out of the music business. From an idyllic childhood full of fishing and love. To an almost suicidal teenage-hood ripe with small-town violence. Through the seamy clubs of 1980's Sheffield and his band's rise, fall and ultimate resurgence. We follow Devine's life through the decades. Undiagnosed ADHD, OCD and Borderline Personality Disorder colour every aspect of the author's existence until Devine comes to terms, very late in his life, with his neurological difference. This is a life story about death, sex, Punk Rock, cement mixers, possible demonic possession and lots of fish. Edited by Mick Mercer, this is a large, beautifully-written and sometimes shocking memoir from a man who, ultimately, would like everyone to be kind.
