DEMOCRATIC COMMUNISM?

Those smiling Marxists seem to be everywhere in politics today. At this time, they generally call themselves Democratic Socialists, but at one time or another they have also called themselves Liberals, Progressives, Leftists, Radicals, Democrats, Eco-Socialists, Left-Libertarians, Anarcho-Syndicalists, Leninists, Trotskyists, Christian Communists, Guevarists, Maoists, De Leonists, Luxemburgists, "Woke", Kaysone Phomvihane thinkers, and innumerable other monikers that are inconceivable to the human mind. However, digging into their subcutaneous tissues indisputably reveals they are acolytes of Karl Marx. They are not the old variety of grumpy and scary looking Marxists, but have morphed into the kind that are always smiling, affable, and making promises of how they will improve your life in every conceivable way, as soon as (a) the greedy rich pay their fair share, or (b) when everything is owned by the working class. At this time they also loudly and repeatedly proclaim that they believe in democracy. All their ideas emphasize addressing inequalities, extensive social welfare, and fundamental changes to the political and economic system. Soon, as they will gain more self-confidence and assertiveness they will refer to themselves as "Democratic Communists," and eventually remove their masks altogether and unambiguously call themselves "Communists."
