Fugitive journalist Lola Cabello is hellbent on avenging her mother's death against a shadowy syndicate and unravels a conspiracy that stretches from modern street crimes to a war between forgotten mythical beings.

They know she is after them and the criminal enterprise sends their hell-born reptilian assassin, Scalebane, to silence her. While hunting for Lola Cabello, Scalebane discovers a darker truth about her employer.

Vampires, talking plants, and demons won't get in Lola's way. Ash is the name of the game, and she cannot resist its power, damaging her mental and physical state.
