Dawn broke over the ruins. After half an hour of silence and frost, a new caravan appeared. Hundreds of women with their children, boys and girls. The women were clad in black. Their mouths were covered. They walked as if they were mobile prisons, concealing bodies within them, bodies concealing souls, and souls concealing lives. The number of men wasn't significant; the majority of those leaving were women. The men withdrew in private buses to the countryside and the north. They took their families with them. Those who are leaving in front of us, and we do not know where they came from, are the ones who remained or the ones who are left. The entire city has withdrawn from its people, and they have withdrawn from it. Their return is not destined. At five o'clock, the city emptied. Snow began to fall like tears on the rubble.
