Building Healthy Relationships
90 Days of Loving Others Well
No one lives this life alone. From the first pages of Scripture, where God declared it "not good" for man to be alone, to the final vision of Revelation, where a great multitude gathers together before the throne, the story of our faith is a story of relationship. We were made for connection-with God first, and inevitably, with one another.
And yet relationships are often where we experience our deepest wounds. The people closest to us have the greatest capacity to bless us and the greatest capacity to hurt us. Marriages fracture under the weight of unresolved conflict. Friendships fade into silence. Families carry unspoken resentment for decades. Churches split over matters that should have been reconciled with grace. If you have ever wondered whether healthy relationships are even possible, you are not alone in that question.
Building Healthy Relationships: 90 Days of Loving Others Well is the third book in the Christian Coaching series, and it was born from a conviction: that the God who renews the mind and heals the heart is also the God who teaches us to love well. That the same Word that transforms our thinking and mends our grief also has the power to reshape how we relate to every person in our lives.
Over the course of these ninety days, you will journey through thirteen thematic weeks. We will begin with the truth that you were created for relationship, and move through the character qualities that make healthy love possible. We will look honestly at communication, forgiveness, and boundaries. We will explore marriage, family, friendship, and the life of the local church. We will consider how our faith should shape our relationships with neighbors, coworkers, and even difficult people. And we will close by learning what it means to become a peacemaker who reflects Christ through every relationship we hold.
Each day includes a Scripture-God's own voice, speaking into the specific relational challenge at hand. A reflection that connects that truth to the practical realities of daily life. An affirmation to anchor what you have received. And a coaching question to help you move from reading to responding-from information to transformation.
This is not a book about becoming more likable, more socially skilled, or more strategically persuasive. It is a book about becoming the kind of person whose love for others flows out of a genuine, growing love for God-the kind of love described in 1 Corinthians 13, patient and kind, not easily angered, keeping no record of wrongs.
We have learned, in our own marriage and in the lives of those we have coached, that healthy relationships rarely happen by accident. They are built-intentionally, patiently, and often imperfectly-by people who keep choosing love even when it costs them something. Some days the reading ahead will feel easy. Other days it will confront something you would rather leave untouched. Both are part of the process. Keep going.
The psalmist wrote, "How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!" That unity is not automatic. It is cultivated, day by day, relationship by relationship, choice by choice. Welcome to the journey. Your relationships are in good hands.
