The Bunyaviridae represent an extremely diverse family of viruses,whichuntilrecentlywererelativelypoorlyunderstood. These viruses have become increasingly important in both human and veterinary medicine, and, most recently, bunyaviruses have been recognized as plant pathogens as well.
