June 1944. The South Pacific. Humanity's first faster-than-light starship has just arrived - 164 years early.

The maiden jump of the ISV Fermi was supposed to last nineteen minutes. The drive performed flawlessly. What no one on Earth understands - in 2108 or in 1944 - is that superluminal flight and time travel are the same phenomenon, and six people just flew into it blind.
