The introduction of bilingual teaching in Austrian schools is becoming increasingly popular and is a very important issue. As a trainee PE and English teacher, I was keen to investigate whether regular PE lessons conducted in English would increase pupils' motivation to speak and learn English. To this end, I delivered a three-week course of PE lessons in English at a new secondary school. My research highlighted the effects of bilingual PE lessons on the children. A questionnaire administered at the end of the programme determined whether the pupils enjoyed being taught in English. Furthermore, this Bachelor's thesis provides insight into whether the children's motivation to learn English increases. Based on the questionnaire data collected and analysed, it is demonstrated that even a three-week intervention phase can have a significant impact on the pupils.
