This book is about a young woman who grew up isolated in the Wild lands with an old Magician named Aldred, but who she only knew as Grandfather. This quest takes her through many lands and she wins many allies as well as enemies. She meets with the Elves as well as the Dwarves. The vampire slaves of Sleen along with misguided Dracadarian army troopers and Trolls attempts to hinder her progress. And, of course, don't forget the Pirates.
