A Ghost Chases the Horizon explores the relationship between time and spirit through the lens of the community surrounding the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. The hospital went by many names during its operation, and its troubled history is retold from the memory held by its thick, limestone walls.

Weston Hospital, 1999, After a paranormal encounter, an urban spelunker blackmails a disgraced local law enforcement officer into allowing her to continue investigating the shuttered facility. What the young adult finds is a kinship that transcends time.

West Virginia Hospital for the Insane, 1905, A falsely-committed widow births a child sired by her doctor. As the doctor's hostility grows when his paternity becomes apparent, the widow plots her freedom with help from a patient with dubious intent.
