Walada bint al-Mustakfi - The Poet Princess

Perhaps when specialists mention Andalusia and its literature or poetry, they-like others-often think only of Ibn Zaydun and Wallada, their closeness now replaced by distance. Despite this, I found that the poetry of Wallada bint al-Mustakfi has not received the attention of scholars, nor has it been studied in a comprehensive and in-depth scholarly manner, as has the poetry of Ibn Zaydun. To my knowledge, no independent study has been dedicated to it before, although references to it appear in some books that deal with women's poetry in general. Given the vast period in which scholars operated, they focused on collection and documentation, rarely engaging in scientific research and analysis. However, this research attempts to transcend those studies by examining the poetry of Wallada independently, exploring her era, her life, her literary salon, her character, her poetry, and her influence on Ibn Zaydun.
