Towards Meanings and Semantics (Understanding and Teaching Methods) - An Evolutionary Perspective on Presenting and Teaching Grammar Rules -

Studying grammar based on meaning has become an educational and linguistic necessity imposed by the nature of grammar and its rules, as well as by the nature of the Arabic language and the objectives of learning it. This is further compounded by the clear decline, severe weakness, and evident deterioration that has afflicted the entire Arabic language (its sciences and arts), rendering it fragile and weak on the tongues of its speakers. Moreover, the connection between grammar and meaning has always been, and remains, a pressing necessity, a requirement that takes precedence over all others. It bestows upon this science-grammar-a sense of enjoyment, freshness, and vitality, and imbues it with novelty and originality, unlike its current state-and its prevailing reputation-of dryness and rigidity. Its rules are dry and heavy for students, making them difficult to understand and comprehend. Consequently, application and practice have disappeared, and it has become as if it were merely rules and laws for memorization and recall, devoid of value or function. Therefore, this book tentatively and gently approaches this topic, and ventures into this bloody arena if this description is correct linguistically and pedagogically, and I think it is with the aim of supporting and establishing this trend. It deals with the rules of grammar from this perspective the new-old in presentation and teaching. It presents the rules of grammar through meanings and connotations, with some linguistic and pedagogical guidelines that the teacher can use to guide him in teaching grammar and acquiring its skills. Grammar, in short, is the maker of meanings and connotations and the ruler of them for formulation and composition, and it is the guide that reveals their contents and implications, no matter how hidden and deep they become, or how difficult the matter becomes!
