The Armenians are among the most prominent peoples scattered across the globe. Consequently, many scholars have dedicated themselves to studying them, tracing their origins and lives in the diaspora across various aspects of life, as well as the development their homeland experienced throughout history. Although the Armenians are among the oldest communities to have migrated to Egypt, dating back to the time of the ancient Pharaonic dynasties, and also to Palestine, they have remained largely within their communities, preserving the traditions and customs they were raised with. While the Armenians who came to Egypt in ancient times did so in search of livelihoods, those who came to Jerusalem from Armenia fled persecution and the climate of sectarian tension between Muslims and non-Muslims. In any case, when non-Muslim and non-Arab communities felt they were merely minorities under an "e;Islamic"e; government, lacking equal rights and citizenship, they distanced themselves from politics and administration, focusing instead on economic and social activities, as is the case with the Armenians in Egypt. The Armenians in the diaspora and in exile were able to maintain their ethnic ties and preserve their language, heritage, culture, customs, and traditions. Even today, in the age of the scientific revolution and rapid communication, they remain connected via telephone, the internet, Facebook, and Twitter. The author's empathy for the Armenians is evident in the dedication and his recounting of the bitter details and unfortunate political situations they endured. This might lead some to perceive him as biased, but it is an objective bias based on factual evidence, not emotional bias.
